EPW - Thomas Earnshaw, London, fusee pocket chronometer with spring detent escapement and helical hairspring, 60mm, silver OF pair cases, inner bearing London hallmarks for 1813, "J.F" marking in cameo for casemaker Joseph Field, outer bearing London hallmarks for 1818, "S B" marking in cameo for casemaker Samuel Brookes, white enamel dial, KWKS, capped spring detent escapement, bi-metallic Z balance with trapezoidal weights and horizontal cross-bar, helical hairspring, diamond endstone, gilt mvt with foliate engraved balance cock, s#1038.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, fine cosmetic mvt condition overall, scattered fine to micro-fine scratches; nearly flawless dial with very small scratch near edge outside 4, few very mild fine to micro-fine scratches elsewhere; excellent hands, hour of somewhat different tone; outer case shows little wear, few nicks or small dings, metal split to central knuckle of hinge extending approximately one-half the width of this hinge knuckle, button latch good; inner case shows light wear, dent to edge at 8:30, additional scattered dings and small dents elsewhere to edges and rear, sharp marks to inner rear from past dent removals; tight bow; domed glass crystal with few scattered small scratches.
